Whatever You’re Doing, Stop Now And Watch…

In Opinion, Opinion/Personal, Random, Recommendations on March 12, 2013 at 7:14 pm

Watch.  Just watch this.  This woman amazes me.  Beautiful, fit, a mom, a wife, a singer, apparently a dancer, an all around success.  This song gets me every time, and the video is stunning.  So just sit back and watch it and love it, because I do…

Me & Britney-I’m Sorry, I Need A Moment

In Opinion, Opinion/Personal, Personal, Random on January 26, 2013 at 11:13 pm

I admit, I have always been a fan of Britney Spears.  It’s true.  Who didn’t love the cute iconic little school girl in Baby One More Time?  Nobody, that’s who.

Then it came out that she and Justin Timberlake, the “it” boy if there ever was one, were an item from their adorable days on the Mickey Mouse Club together.  All preteen girls hated her for that, but still loved her at the same time.

Little Singing Bird

In Personal, Poetry, Writing on December 3, 2012 at 9:55 pm

I’ve been reading up on some poetry lately, specifically Edgar Allan Poe, and I have a sneaking suspicion that the darkly twisted romantics of his young love lost writings have effected me.  As usual, I had a short phrase come together, unexpectedly and out of nowhere, in my mind that sounded beautiful to me.  I memorized it until I was able to jot it down, then I built on it to create a whole story.  A whole story that took an unusual, and again unexpected, turn about midway through.  It was even surprising to me, as I had no plans for how this would turn out and was just writing whatever came to my mind.  I think I quite like it, though…

Good day little singing bird
Whose feathers gleam soft cream.
It seems he’s left without a word
And I am left to dream.

To dream the day that he returns
Or dream what could have been.
Deep inside my longing churns
And all I ask is “when?”

When did he change, and why?
Little bird, why aren’t you singing?
While all my plans have gone awry,
Your sweet chirp keeps me clinging.

Clinging to this future
Of my fairytale I’d planned.
But I’m only clinging to this creature,
Falling lifeless from my hand.

Scoop it up and sweep it,
I won’t need it anymore.
Put it where he can keep it,
Beneath my feet, beneath my floor.

These Are My Confessions, Part 1

In Opinion/Personal, Random on September 28, 2012 at 9:37 am

I’ve decided that in addition to the long, opinionated blog posts, I will also start doing shorter, less serious ones. Take this one, for example. It is the first in a series I plan to post pertaining to my secrets that I will be letting out. Guilty pleasures, embarrassing moments – its all going here from now on.

So…my first confession. I love music. (That’s not the confession, it’s building up to it.). I love music, but generally not the girly, pop-ish type. I’m more into hard hitting drums and long haired dirty men shredding guitars or singers clad in skinny jeans and ugly sweaters. However…I must confess that I utterly and absolutely adore…Vanessa Carlton. Read the rest of this entry »
